Enjoy a pleasant hike between bories and restanques in Saumane-de-Vaucluse. On your way, you will see splendid views of the Alpilles, the Luberon and the Rhone Valley.
Departing from Château de Sade Saumane, you will take a 4 km hiking trail. This easy/medium level course and usually shaded, it leads you to splendid dry stone walls and calades shaped by the hand of man. Halfway through, you will also discover, a remarkable cave habitat.
Be careful! At stage 5 of the hiking circuit, after the restanques, do not join the concrete road but take the path on your left, there is a rope, but the path is still accessible.;)
At the end of the hike, if you are not tired, go on a small visit to the village of Saumane. In the four corners of the village, you will discover pretty washhouses, and you will enjoy, in complete tranquility, a superb view of the plain planted with pine trees, olive trees and Mediterranean essences.
The Château de Saumane, perched on its rocky spur, and once a fief of the Sade family, invites you to discover this fabulous building in summer, from July to September.
