Activities for children at the Filaventure

Find the activities of the Filaventure, museum of the Brun wool factory of Vian Tiran in L'Isle sur la Sorgue proposed during the holidays of October 2020.

A bit of history

Brun de Vian-Tiran is first a family home for 8 generations, founded by Charles Tiran and his son-in-law Laurent Vian. The factory was founded in 1808 in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, the ideal place for the textile industry thanks to the water of the Sorgue and its driving force.

Today it is the oldest active French spinning mill.

Brun de Vian-Tiran carefully selects the most beautiful fibers of the world across the continent: Asia, South America, South Africa...

The manufacture fully transforms the material on site, there are 15 manufacturing steps for the manufacture of a cover: assembly, ensiming, dyeing, carding, spinning, winding, heaving, weaving, retracting, treading, washing, wool, owing, mowing and skirting..

A sensory museum

You will be charmed by the sensory and interactive museum of the city. During the visit, the father and son propose the human adventure that makes them in love with their profession of 'wainier'. In search of new wool fibers across the globe, through the manufacturing stages to the finished product, the Vian-Tiran Brun family demonstrates their know-how and philosophy in this museum.

The tour is captivating and poetic: the journey of the various stages of the transformation from raw wool to fabric, the moving film projected 360° on a screen of mohair yarns, immersion in the universe of manufacture and the possibility of operating real machinery and manufacturing mechanisms, the adventure specially imagined for children with Edgar the Sheep...

Find the shop at the end of the journey to leave with a sweet gift.
