Sonograf, the temple of blues, rock and world music at the gates of L'Isle sur la Sorgue

Take a ceramic artist by profession and a world music fanatic, mix with a zest of passion for art, culture and above all add a lot of altruism, you will get the Sonograf recipe. This place, opened in 2010, is a reference just a stone's throw from L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, in Le Thor.

History and embodiment, as a matter of course

While some gave Sonograf no more than 6 months of existence, Selim and Beatrice, the founders, are starting their 15th season with as much vigor and enthusiasm as ever. The fruit of a passion with, at the source, the association “Pose ton art” created in 2006 whose aim is to promote art and culture in all its forms, in rural areas.

Their journey is that of a couple who fell in love with our magnificent region for its beauty and its energies, with the desire to put their skills at the service of local structures. Selim, soon to be retired, works on a daily basis in the youth and sport department in the city of Thor. It is in his free time that this man from the world of MJC (Maison de la Jeunesse et de la Culture) acts to create moments to share and make culture accessible to all, in the service of local, national and international artists.

It is a human adventure, a place where passion for music meets a sincere commitment to all people here and elsewhere.

Place this verb “Soon will be the beginning of Sonograf”, jokes Sélim, soon to be retired.

The place and its artists

Sonograf is a unique place for world music, blues, jazz, and rock. A space for the distribution of live performances, art and culture that is absolutely worth discovering because of its proximity, its accessibility and its eclectic programming.
From its Latin evenings, dance classes, creative workshops and concerts, everyone will find a reason to try it. The room and its latest generation equipment can accommodate up to 300 people in a standing configuration and 200 in a seated format. The associative dynamic with its 56 volunteers and 340 members gives it an essential social dimension where everyone can make a contribution. Trust Sélim to help you discover high-quality artists, such as Dr Feelgood or Little Bob, talents from around the world and even the young local and national scene. A chance for residents and visitors to enrich themselves culturally.

The Association is a place of conviviality and exchanges between the participants of the various activities, come and move according to your desires!
Dance lessons: Bachata with Ali Bounou, Salsa with Yordan El Cubano, Semba, this popular traditional Angolan dance with Djam, African dance with Modou Diatta and Badeni or with Mase, Ndioufa and his percussionists.
Weekly earth arts class: for adults with Beatrice Chikh. Graduated in Applied Ceramic Arts, recognized as an 'Artisan d'art' in Vaucluse, and formerly a decorator for tiles in the Marais and Emaux de la Fontaine in Paris. Externalize your creativity at his side!
