5 good reasons to start hiking (right away) around L'Isle sur la Sorgue!

Among the essential activities in Luberon and the Monts de Vaucluse, we invite you to discover hiking. Nature lovers, let yourself be surprised!

1. Long live spring!

Not that you have to wait for nice days to get started (we love the diversity of landscapes throughout the seasons), but it's much easier, we start light and we love the first rays of the sun that warm us up.

2. For all and for three times nothing!

You don't necessarily have to invest to become hikers (we appreciate it all the more at the moment). You don't need expensive equipment and you can say goodbye to expensive gym memberships (a nod to those who have deserted, we understand you).
It is an activity that brings people together: for the youngest, the oldest, Sunday athletes, fans, to share with friends, neighbours or animals...

3. The place to be!

With more than 300 days of sunshine per year, Vaucluse is the most beautiful department in France, you will all agree on it;). There is no shortage of itineraries, both in number and in level of difficulty: there is something for everyone (around 3,000 km of marked trails). The landscapes are not alike, the views are breathtaking and we take the opportunity to admire the fauna and flora of Provence.

4. Challenge yourself!

What if we let go of the phone while we went for a walk (well, if it's stored at the bottom of the bag just in case why not?). We reconnect with nature and with our previous life, not connected. Attention the youngest among us: “It's a time that people under 20 can't know.” Let's do a little digital detox and (re) learn to read a map and direction signs.

5. A new free hiking map!

The best for last! As we said above, hiking is one of the cheapest activities and today we can count on a super map to discover the department on foot. You can download it or come and pick it up at the Tourist Offices from April. Thanks to the official tourism organization in Vaucluse for this brilliant idea.

There are 60 suggested itineraries: 20 GRP and GR as well as 40 local loops departing from village centers.

For the most “modern” among us, we invite you to download the hiking application from the hiking federation. There you can find all the hiking information: routes, useful and practical features for hikers, tourist points of interest...

For those who wish to stick to the printed version, IGN topoguides and maps can be found in numerous shops (newspaper merchants, bookstores, Décathlon, etc.). You can also hire a hiking guide, it's the best.

Otherwise, you are always welcome in our tourist information offices where we are pleased to share with you all the tips and advice to have a good time in Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and everywhere in the region.
