OUR ANTI-HEATWAVE TIPS: keep cool in L'Isle sur la Sorgue!

Stroll along the Sorgue — ISLE SUR LA SORGUE

A must in L'Isle sur la Sorgue! A 1.5 km route runs along the river (the Sorgue) from the city center to the Partage des Eaux site, a place where, as its name suggests, the Sorgue is divided into several branches. You will discover, over the water, the tranquility of this river and its precious biodiversity. On arrival, two establishments welcome you, if you wish, to enjoy refreshing drinks and/or enjoy a good ice cream on the terrace.

Practical information: allow about 30 minutes of walking one way. Departure from the Music School, Avenue du Partage des Eaux - Warning, swimming prohibited.

Arboursière Park — CHÂTEAUNEUF DE GADAGNE

A place where everyone will find what they are looking for! It is a shaded park on the peak of the hill offering a splendid view of the giant of Provence, Mont Ventoux!
The 4 hectares of the Park allow a great stroll and offers a large playground for children 'Le bois de l'adventure'. Enough to have a good time!

The Thouzon caves — LE THOR

Freshness par excellence! In addition to admiring one of the ancestral treasures of Provence, you will give yourself a real break in a totally mystical place. Authentic eco-museum, this magical place amazes with the surprising yellow and gold stalactites. The hidden splendors of our Provence, a magical and permanent spectacle of the mineral world where the work of water has left its mark.

We also recommend walks in the sumptuous Cedar Forests of Cabrières d'Avignon and Bonnieux, but access may be limited depending on the period.

Campredon Art Center — ISLE SUR LA SORGUE

La Filaventure Sensory Museum — ISLE SUR LA SORGUE

The Museum of Noble Fibres has become a must in L'Isle sur la Sorgue, testimony to the industrial past of the city and the only wool factory still existing. Here, everything has been designed to discover the craft of art in a fun and interactive way. For about 1h30, you will be able to discover 4 spaces and live a new experience in the heart of the most beautiful wools in the world. Younger children can even conduct an investigation guided by Edgar the Little Sheep.

Villa Datris Foundation — ISLE SUR LA SORGUE

This large 19th century Provencal house dedicated to contemporary sculpture in the heart of the city is a curiosity not to be missed! The Villa Datris offers more than 500 m² of exhibition space on 4 levels as well as an art bookshop.The garden offers a unique setting on the banks of the Sorgue. Here, time stops and gives way to contemplation in the shade of plane trees.

And if you are moving away from L'Isle sur la Sorgue, we highly recommend a detour to the Carrières de Lumières in Les Baux de Provence and/or the Mines de Bruoux in Gargas. The temperatures are very cool, even a little wool should be provided!
