Van life in the L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue region: we enjoy it all year round!

For several years, road trips have been on the rise: minimalist, economical and sociable vacations. We invite you to our home!

In a motorhome, van, combi or campervan, one of the great pleasures of this adventure is to say to yourself that you can move and change the program easily.
We forget the rhythm of life at home quite well, we reinvent ourselves on the road and we stop (almost) where we want.

The essentials in the area

Each season, its decor and its advantages. The region of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue offers as much joy to nature lovers as to those who are more urban and it is easy to mix desires.

If you are staying for a few days, don't miss out on discovering:

  • The ancient and dynamic heart of the city surrounded by water: L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.
  • The village of Fontaine-de-Vaucluse and its gardens: such a special little place in the department that is second to none.
  • The sunset at the top of Thouzon Hill in Thor.
  • Walking tours starting from the hilltop village of Saumane-de-Vaucluse.
  • Local gastronomy: regional products on our Provençal markets, farmers or even in our restaurants. To name just one: La Maison de Celou, an institution in the village of Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne.

The best season to come

You are obviously always welcome, but at Isle sur la Sorgue Tourism, we recommend that you focus on the low and middle seasons to take full advantage.
Summer when we experience very hot weather, it is probably the least pleasant time to come and sleep at home. At night it is always (very) hot.

It is also the time of the year when we have a lot of vacationers.
Prefer other seasons to be quieter.

The useful information & advice you need to escape peacefully

Get around and schedule your visit stops

You certainly have the GPS and/or the park4night application as a travel companion but you can also count on the availability of the Tourist Office to make your life easier. We know the good deals and are happy to share them with you.
Our hilltop villages have small streets and are sometimes difficult to access, it is strongly recommended to park upstream and continue on foot.

Parking & where to sleep, in summary

The city of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue has a special free car park: the Grand Sud Parking. You can stay there for one or more nights. It is a 10-minute walk from the city center. Namely, he does not have the services.
The local reference service area is that of Camping-Car Park in Fontaine-de-Vaucluse. From March to October, the campsites in the area also welcome you.

Find the brochure of Vaucluse Service Areas:

Soft mobility

Moving your vehicle is not always desirable, especially if you have found the perfect spot. It is the ideal opportunity to move “gently”. You can get around our house by public transport, on foot and/or at bike.

Responsible tourism

In motorhomes, we are particularly attentive to our resources since in fact, they are limited... We like to think that we have a particular sensitivity to nature and that we embody this group of eco-responsible tourists (yes, campers are perfect; -). Also, we sort our waste and THE interactive map tells you everything you need to find where to deposit it!

Regulation

In Vaucluse, wild camping and bivouac are prohibited from June 15 to September 15 in forest areas. The rest of the year bivouac is tolerated from sunset to sunrise except in restricted areas. The fundamental rule to respect is to leave no trace of your passage.
