Discover the exhibition of the Quarries de Lumières projected on the huge walls more than 14m high, the pillars and the floor of the quarry in Les Baux de Provence.
In the heart of the Alpilles, the monumental Quarries de Lumières host multimedia shows unique in the world. Each year a great new show is proposed presenting the biggest names in the history of art. These shows are projected on the huge 14-meter high walls, pillars and floors of the quarry and transport you in music to the colorful worlds. A new highlight of the Quarries makes you discover the unique and unusual character of the place and reveals its mineral beauty.
Multimedia equipment unique in France: Les Quarries de Lumières benefits from new equipment and processes at the cutting edge of technology: the largest fixed multimedia installation in France with 70 video projectors and 70 servers to project images on more than 6000m2 of surface. The viewer finds himself totally immersed in the image projected on all the surfaces of the stone. The number of video projectors has been doubled to cover twice as many walls. As for the floor, it is completely covered and becomes a huge carpet of images.
This year and until January 3, 2021, the Carrières de Lumières continues their artistic adventure with an unprecedented multimedia exhibition between dream and reality on Salvador Dalí and Gaudí.
- Short program: Gaudí, architect of the imaginary. Immerse yourself in the colorful universe of the architect who greatly inspired Dalí and discover from a new angle, thanks to exceptional lighting effects, his most famous buildings: Park Güell, Casa Batlló, Casa Milà or the Sagrada Familía...
- Long program: Dalí, the endless enigma. Les Carrières invites you to discover the surreal and mystical landscapes that make up the works of the famous painter. The exhibition punctuated by the music of Pink Floyd will make you live an experience out of time.
