Château du Barroux - EN

The construction of the Renaissance-style castle was ordered by Henri de Rovilhasc. Built between 1539 and 1544 the final appearance was exactly as it is today.

This castle, built in the 12th century, had thick fortified walls and an imposing dungeon which protected the Comtadine plain. In 1538, the castle passed into the hands of Henri De Rovigliasc who joined the pontifical court. He transformed the building, thus making it one of the most splendid Renaissance buildings in the region. The castle also offers a magnificent view of the Comtat Venaissin Plain.

Closed exceptionally on December 25th.

Tarifs

Adult: 8.50 € (8.50€ for a self-guided tour.
17.50€ for a guided tour of the distillery, including a self-guided tour of the château.)
Child (6-16 years): 5 €
Group adults: 7.50 € (group rate applicable to groups of 10 or more with a single payment: €15 per guided tour.).

Free entry for children < 6 years.
Group rate available for > 10 people.

Guided tour of the distillery and tasting €17.50 per visitor aged 10 and over (château visit included) on reservation. Free for accompanying adults and drivers.
