Discover the Villa Datris Foundation, a lively space dedicated to exhibiting contemporary sculptures in the heart of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.
The cheerful and colourful façades conceal an interior whose sober elegance enhances the works on display. Delight in the multitude of scents that accompany you as you stroll in the garden alongside one of the arms of the Sorgue. Admission to the exhibitions is free from June until the end of October.
This beautiful building, connected by an arm of the Sorgue to the birthplace of the poet René Char, was the home of Albert Gassier, one of the founders of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue's antique dealers' fair. In 2011, it was converted by Danièle Kapel-Marcovici and Tristan Fourtine for use as an exhibition venue for contemporary sculpture.
It took only a few years for the Villa Datris to stamp its authority on the region's calendar of cultural events. Every year, it stages a surprising exhibition aimed at people of all ages.
A place dedicated to contemporary sculpture and with its own well-defined identity.
