Pierre and Jean-Louis Brun share their passion for beautiful wools and their craft at La Filaventure, the Brun de Vian-Tiran factory museum and shop in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.
A family business that began over 200 years ago and is now into its eighth generation, Brun de Vian-Tiran mainly worked with boutiques and department stores, as well as with many luxury and haute-couture brands. However, Pierre and Jean-Louis Brun, the seventh and eighth generations of the family wanted to make the business into a brand in its own right and introduce it to a wider public. And that meant they needed a meeting place.
In one wing of the factory, a two-storey space covering 460 m² lets you delve deeply into the universe of a unique factory, one bearing witness to the textile activity lying at the core of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue's industrial adventure.
Opening up the factory itself to visitors was not an option, since the buildings, dating back to the early 19th century, could not meet the necessary standards.
And so a space adjacent to the factory's manufacturing workshops was designated as the home of La Filaventure. Now, visitors to the two-storey facility can learn about a unique universe: that of a company which is, in itself, living heritage and a witness to L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue's textile activity since the town first set out on its industrial adventure.
