1. The  outdoor activity 

Donkey trekking in Venasque : enjoy an unusual family outing with big-eared companions.  
You're right next to a hilltop village, listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. The farm is amazing, varied activities done with passion and commitment. One donkey, 2 hours, 2 adults and 2 children: €38. By reservation only.

2. The Wednesday morning activity 

Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne multimedia library : for those wishing to practise their French ;-) "Story time" from 10.15am to 10.45am (every Wednesday). For children aged 3 and over. A great time for young children. Everyone is transported by the stories and the energy of the librarians who bring characters and worlds to life. Free admission !

3. The activity for older children  

Intrigue dans la ville : investigate like a modern-day Sherlock Holmes. We can't wait for you to try it - we love it ! It's fun, it gets everyone thinking, and at the same time you get to discover the town's heritage, hidden streets and alleyways... Here in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue or in the 21 other towns and villages in the region. 12€ on sale at the Tourist Office, from age 7. Only French version available. 

4.The cultural activity  

Fondation Blachère in Bonnieux is a unique Art Centre : discover African art. The "Chimères" exhibition has been extended until 8 March 2024. There's no age limit for connecting with your artistic sensibility. The little extra :  it's right next to the Véloroute du Calavon greenway. Let’s go cycling ! Admission : €5 / Free for under-12s.

5.The activity that costs nothing  

Short hike to the heights of the village of Le Thor : This route is easy (although it climbs a little to reach the Château de Thouzon). You start in the historical centre of Le Thor, where you can admire the pretty branches of the river, and don't forget your picnic or snack to enjoy up there. Fantastic views! The neighbouring town of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue can be reached by car, bus, train or bike.

6.The indoor activity 

The Musée Sensoriel La Filaventure: since we are in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, and for once in a museum children are allowed to touch what they see. They've put together a special booklet-game for the youngest among us : the investigation of Edgar the sheep, a family experience. It's an opportunity to discover the local know-how of the last family of weavers, and the rich heritage of an industrial past that made the town famous. 
Admission: €6.50 to €7.50 per person. Free for children under 6.  
Tip: buy your ticket at the Tourist Office shop and save €1 per ticket (valid on full-price tickets).  

7.The activity at the only very big one mountain of the region 

Mont Serein resort in Beaumont-du-Ventoux : 1. Discover the fantastic Géant de Provence (where the famous Tour de France takes place) 2. Eat a tartiflette or Ventoux gratin 3. To take advantage of the children's activities: skiing, snowshoeing, kindergarten, sledging, etc. Access is only possible via Malaucène, and special car equipment is compulsory: full details here!  

A little extra from February, 24th to March, 11th : you can take the shuttle bus from Carpentras to the resort (first departure 9am and last return 6.25pm). Open if the weather conditions are good, so keep an eye on the snow cover.

8.The activity for the more adventurous  

Clip'n climb in Vedène : awesome walls climbing centre ! The whole family can try their hand at indoor climbing... Or it could be the ultimate holiday challenge to test your limits (with a nod to mums who get dizzy as they get older). From age 6 upwards. Snacks on site. 1-hour session : €15.

9.The activity where little monsters can let off steam and parents can enjoy a quiet cup of coffee.  

Abracadabra in Sorgues : indoor play paradise. Open every day from 10am to 6.30pm. Parking is easy, and the area is big and clean. We love the toddlers' corner (0-3 years). Catering on site.  Admission : €10 / child (free for parents).

10. The recreational activity 

Théâtre la Marelle in Avignon : park in the Place Pie car park in the town centre and walk there in 2 minutes. The programme is fun and the actors are great. Booking recommended. 8€ / person. Only French version.
