Art & Antiques

Meet the Artisans
From April to October, on every first or second Saturday of the month, some 40 artisans gather on the Esplanade Robert Vasse in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue.

Antiques, Art and You
Every year, a large International Art and Antiques Fair is organised in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. For the past few years, pride of place in terms of style has gone to Vintage, Design and Deco. Over 550 dealers gather together for the event, which includes conferences and plenty of entertainment. These fairs are held twice a year – at Easter and All Saints – so be sure to note the dates in your diary.

The ABIS Bric-a-brac Fair
Each year, the ABIS Association organises two bric-a-brac fairs in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, one on Pentecost weekend and the other at All Saints.

Watery Traditions

Fishing of Yesteryear
On the third Sunday in July, the 'Pescaïre Lilen' fishermen's brotherhood, kitted out in traditional costumes, meet up at the L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue washhouse and offer fishing demonstrations.

The Magical Nautical Extravaganza

On the second-last Sunday and Monday in July, boats decorated with flowers sail along the Sorgue at Quai Rouget de Lisle in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. It is a magical, music-filled spectacle that begins when the sun goes down. Don't miss the battle of the flowers, on the Monday evening.

The Floating Market
This unique and spectacular floating market takes place on the first Sunday morning in August at the L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue washhouse at Quai Jean Jaurès! River enthusiasts dress in Provençal costume and sail along the Sorgue in traditional Nègo Chin boats, offering a range of regional produce for you to buy. Choose from different types of bread, eggs, flowers, fruit, vegetables and more.

Note that for 2022, the floating market will take place on Sunday 4 September!

Christmas

The Festival of Lights
The festival takes place in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue on the first Saturday in December. There will be plenty of entertainment on offer throughout the day's festivities: a balloon release, batucada, a light parade, stilt-walkers and more. And in the evening, there will be a Sound and Light Show at the Parc Gautier.

The Christmas Market
Throughout the month of December, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue's public garden will be the stage for the Christmas Market! Some 20 handicraft stalls and a range of eateries will ensure a festive time for all. And there will be plenty of entertainment too, including concerts, shows and workshops for the children.

Gastronomy

A Festival of Terroirs
Come and meet the farmers and artisans from the department of Vaucluse. The programme includes direct sales of local products, demonstrations, tastings, children's entertainment and a night-time market. The event will take place in the Parc de l’Arbousière in Châteauneuf-de-Gadagne.

Concerts and folklore

Music at the Belfry
An original way to spend your Thursday evenings in Thor town centre! Listen to music (jazz and world music) while sampling street food from the food trucks.

The Viking Festival
A whole weekend to experience the world of the Vikings! Workshops, shows, animals and exhibitions are on the agenda at Parc Gautier in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, where everyone is sure to have a great time.
