The Ochre Trail – Roussillon

A tree-lined trail through old quarries to marvel at the stunning colours in a unique landscape fashioned by 200 years of ochre quarrying and the ravages of the time.

A veritable geological curiosity, the 'blood and gold' cliffs of this village, classified as one of 'France's most beautiful villages', help put Roussillion on the map of the Luberon's most remarkable sites.

Two well-maintained and marked trails, taking 30 and 60 minutes respectively to complete, provide some insight into how the ochre formed and was mined, the latter an activity of considerable importance in the area's history.

From 01/05 to 31/05, daily between 9.30 AM and 6.30 PM.
Closed exceptionally on January 1st and December 25th.

From 01/06 to 30/06, daily between 9 AM and 6.30 PM.

From 01/07 to 31/08, daily between 9 AM and 7.30 PM.

From 01/09 to 30/09, daily between 9.30 AM and 6.30 PM.

From 01/10 to 31/10, daily between 10 AM and 5.30 PM.

From 01/11 to 14/11, daily between 10 AM and 4.30 PM.

From 15/11 to 05/01, daily between 11 AM and 3.30 PM.
